Recycled, up-cycled, repurposed, locally designed, handmade, ethically produced, retro, vintage and just plain awesome – it’s all there! The market is all about fun and fashion that’s beautiful and ethical. Some stalls will sell designer brands while others will house vintage items you aren’t likely to find elsewhere! Mix and match fabulous creations from up-and-coming artists.

8) Beer & Pooches at Capital Brewing Co

Dogs on the Run is holding another Beer & Pooches event at Capital Brewery to celebrate the last Sunday of summer! Enjoy a beer and Brodburger while your furry friend gets to socialise with other friendly pooches. A fun get-together for you and your four-legged friend!

7) Googong Community Garden Harvest Festival

The Googong Community Garden’s hosting a Harvest Festival to raise money to buy seeds and plant their autumn and winter crops! They grow produce to sell to the local community in a bid to get Googonians to eat more vegies and learn how to grow their own! You can buy produce like zucchinis, tomatoes, potatoes, corn, beans, peas, snow peas, lettuce and herbs! There’ll also be info sessions on propagating seeds, worm farming and what to plant now. Raffle prizes up for grabs too!

6) Summerfest

Check out Ginninderry’s family-friendly celebration of summer and local performing arts! Enjoy live music, dance and theatre performances from local artists Simone Penkethman, Ben Drysdale Band, Fan Dancers, PLAY The Dance Agency, Collective Theatre, With One Voice Ginninderry Choir and Twice the Spice. Take your own picnic or buy food and drinks there! Proceeds go to cancer patient support in the ACT.

5) Canberra Miniature Railway’s First Ever Public Running Day

Check out the sensational new track in Symonston! Ride the trains on stage one of their much-improved miniature railway. The lovely ladies in the canteen will provide food and drinks, so bring the family and the picnic blanket for a great day out!

4) Canberra 2018 Gourmet Walk

A yearly event that provides participants with a chance to walk in and around Canberra’s iconic locations while making pit stops for the best in French cuisine, washed down with top local vintages. Hosted by the French Embassy, Alliance Francaise and the French Scout group, Eclaireurs de Canberra. Eat, drink and enjoy a cultural experience within just seven kilometres!

3) Tennis Carnivale

This is set to be a super fun afternoon with activities like ANZ Hotshots coaching for kids, Fitbit Cardio Tennis for adults, a speed serving competition, face painting, a BBQ, raffles and a DJ! Elsa from Frozen and Spiderman will be there – thanks to Enchanted Canberra. All attendees encouraged to dress up as Elsa or Spiderman! Proceeds will go to Ronald McDonald House Canberra.

2) Festival of the Face

Head along for a day of fun, celebration, art making, magic and cake! You can customise your own party hat, help the Portrait Gallery celebrate 20 years by making a birthday card, decorate the giant 5-tier cardboard birthday cake, paint water portraits, learn drawing techniques, draw to live music, watch Nomad the Magician perform magic tricks, get your face painted and more!

Pig races, showbags, fairy floss and show dogs – it’s all happening at the ActewAGL Royal Canberra Show! All the favourites will be back, including the farmyard nursery, sideshow alley, rides, food and more! Peppa Pig will also make an appearance on the Saturday! Visitors are urged to plan their trip by checking out the entertainment program online. ACTION buses are helping show goers get to Exhibition Park during the day, with free evening shuttle services also on offer.
