10 – Clean Up Lake Burley Griffin

For the second year in a row, members of the NCA Lake User Group are organising to give Lake Burley Griffin a good clean before the summer months, and they’re encouraging the public to join in! Last year about 100 volunteers by foot, kayak and dragon boat pulled 74 bags of rubbish from the lake in three hours!

9 – Thoroughbred Park Christmas Party Race Day

What better way to celebrate the festive season than by hitting the race course! Have a drink, enjoy delicious food and watch the local races from the Black Opal Room. Members passes can be purchased for $15. Table bookings are essential.

6 – Christmas in Canberra Red Nose Lights

You can experience Canberra’s very own Christmas extravaganza with amazing lighting displays and miniature railway rides and live entertainment, culminating in a spectacular light show. Entry includes unlimited train rides, live entertainment on stage, fantastic light displays and for the kids, use of a giant train themed jumping castle/slide and the opportunity to meet Santa in his all new Grotto. Proudly supporting Red Nose saving little lives.

3 – Carols in Town Park

Celebrate the festive season with carols, a visit from Santa, amusement rides, farm animals, jumping castles and face painting. Carols in Town Park is an initiative of The Salvation Army and includes support from the Canberra Community Voices Choir. Entertainment includes performances from national and local performers, Amber Nicols, Lucy Sugerman and Tori Nikias.

1 – 75th Carols by Candlelight

Head along to Stage 88 for a wonderful evening of community, charity and song, in support of the Anglicare Youth Engagement Programme for Indigenous young people in the Canberra Region. Woden Valley Youth Choir will be accompanied by Canberra City Band, with special guest artists. There may even be a special visit from the jolly man in red! A fun and family-friendly way to celebrate the festive season.
