10 – Upcycle Origami Easter Workshop

Embrace your creativity and learn how folding paper can help you take a short meditative journey! Makiko will teach you how to make an origami egg stand, an origami rabbit and an origami box – all Easter themed. Take your own recycled paper or use what’s provided. All skill levels and ages welcome!

9 – Disney Classics Film Festival

The old school Disney classics are coming to the big screen until March 18 at Event Cinemas in Manuka! The Festival features all the favourites, including 101 Dalmatians, Bambi, Dumbo and The Lion King. This long weekend, Dumbo will be screened! Head along for some nostalgia and tunes!

As part of Enlighten, the National Zoo & Aquarium is open after hours for this exclusive event! This year’s event features the classical string quartet, Mostly Mozart, performing well known movie and musical tunes. Take a picnic, enjoy a glass of wine, explore the grounds and enjoy the ambience!

4 – Black Opal Stakes

3 – Enlighten

Enlighten transforms Canberra into a hive of activity with a jam-packed program of free and ticketed events! Visitors will see stunning large-scale projections on some of the capital’s iconic buildings, with roving entertainers, art installations, live music and dazzling performances. You can also get amongst all the deliciousness at the Night Noodles Markets, showcasing the best street food! Be sure to check out the glow in the dark donuts too!

2 – Canberra Balloon Spectacular

Over 9 days, more than 30 hot air balloons from across the globe will take to the skies of Canberra! Keep an eye out for the special shaped balloons, like Kermie the frog and a very colourful hummingbird. Pilots will inflate their balloons from 6:15am each day, weather permitting, on the lawns of Old Parliament House. Definitely a sight to see! Spectators can also enjoy a delicious hot brekkie on site from the Belconnen Lions Club.

1 – Canberra Day 2018

Canberra is turning 105 this year! Join in the celebrations with a jam-packed program of live music and entertainment for the whole family. There’ll also be rides, delicious food and face painting – all with the stunning backdrop of Commonwealth Park. Taking to the stage is Lah Lah’s Big Live Band, Lucy Sugerman, Ali Barter, Nicole Millar and Sheppard!
