10 – Indigenous Art Market

Head to the picturesque Acton Peninsula for the AIATSIS Indigenous Art Market. It presents work from a range of contemporary Indigenous artists and art centres from around Australia directly to the shores of Lake Burley Griffin. There’ll also be cultural workshops, traditional music, entertainment and food.

9 – Christmas in Moncrieff

Grab your picnic blanket and Santa hat, and head over to the Moncrieff Community Recreation Park for a relaxed afternoon of Christmas festivities. 7 – Yarralumla Does Christmas

Take your own picnic. There’ll be something for everyone to enjoy. Relax, catch up with friends and listen to music. Support Australian designers, find something unique and meet the makers! There’s over 200 stalls with everything from fashion, furniture, sculpture, ceramics, children’s toys and clothing, jewellery and accessories and a whole pavilion dedicated to food & drinks.

5 – The Rainbow Paws Doggy Christmas Party

All doggos and their humans are invited to the first annual Doggy Christmas party! There’ll be selfies with Santa, doggy show bags, make your own paw print art, bake sale (for people), sausage sizzle, face painting, dog treats and more. Enjoy a fun morning while raising much needed funds for the Rainbow Paws Snip Snip de-sexing program.

4 – Ginninderry Open Air Cinema

Head along to Ginninderry’s GX Display Village for a night of relaxed family fun with the screening of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle! 3 – Raiders book launch

Celebrate Christmas in the City with the log cabin in Garema Place hosting a range of free family activities! There’ll be cookie decorating, bauble making, free Santa slushies, Santa selfies and a tree pop up shop! There’s also lots of ongoing events like Santa letter writing, lantern making, theatrical performances, a public art treasure hunt, Christmas choir performances, musical Christmas mash-ups and a visit from the big man in red! A key feature brightening up the city is the kaleidoscopic Christmas tree!
